THCa vs THC: what's the difference?

THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the non-psychoactive precursor to THC. Raw cannabis and hemp make THCa, not THC. When you heat it — smoking, vaping or baking — it goes through decarboxylation and becomes Delta-9 THC. So chemically, smoked THCa flower and dispensary flower end up in the same place. Does THCa flower get you high?
Yes, once it's heated. Raw THCa isn't intoxicating, but smoking or vaping it converts THCa into Delta-9 THC through decarboxylation. The effect is the same as smoking regular cannabis flower. Go slow the first time.

Our flower is hemp with less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight, as defined in the 2018 Farm Bill. Federal and state hemp rules are changing, so check your state's current laws before you order. How strong is your THCa flower?
Potency varies by strain, line and batch, so every batch has its own COA with the exact numbers — the COA is the figure that counts. Our coated Medellín Edition snowballs run the strongest of the lines.
Is your hemp flower sprayed?
No. Some sellers spray THCa distillate onto low-potency CBD bud to fake the numbers. Ours is grown from high-THCa genetics, and the batch COA shows the natural cannabinoid profile. You can check any batch at labs.topgfarm.shop.
What size should I buy — 3.5g, 7g or 14g?
An eighth (3.5g) is the best way to try a new strain. Once you find one you like, 7g and 14g cost less per gram — for example, Premium is $30 for 3.5g but $80 for 14g. Our 7g vs 14g vs oz guide runs the math.
What's the difference between indica, sativa and hybrid flower?
Indica strains are usually picked for relaxed, body-heavy evenings. Sativa strains lean uplifting and daytime. Hybrids sit in between. In practice, terpenes and the individual strain matter more than the label — so we tag every strain by type and group the menu by flavor.
Will THCa flower show up on a drug test?
It can. Smoked THCa becomes THC, and standard drug tests look for THC metabolites. If you get tested, don't use THCa flower. More in hemp & drug tests.
How do I keep THCa flower fresh?
